The Dos and Don’ts for a Good Social Media Experience

The Dos and Don’ts for a Good Social Media Experience

Only because of the advent of social networking we’re reconnecting with our long lost friends and also making new circle of friends on the go. But social media isn’t always about the good; it’s also filled with a lot of bitter experiences. You can still make your social media experience a more positive one, if you understand the effects of it, and act accordingly.

If you’re going to be active on your social media page, make sure you make it count. It can really be a positive experience for you and your KIK friends, if you follow a few dos and don’ts. Here is a list of things that you can follow or avoid while being active on social media platforms:

The dos…

Always be selective about who you connect with through your social media page. It’s not necessary that you accept anyone who sends you a friendship request or reply to any stranger who tries to connect to you through the social network’s messenger page. It’s okay to restrict your social media circle to a few friends and acquaintances.

Your online activity is very private, but still it’s capable of leaving a permanent mark in the virtual world. Always stick to good behavior because anyone would look at your social media profile and you don’t have to give way for any embarrassments. All your older networking history or messages will still be visible to other users, so make sure you always model discipline while on social media.

Social media is not just a connecting platform for people. It can also be utilized as a means to reach out to business professionals and uplift your career. Make sure you update your bio and work profile in your social media account. You can also join a few social media pages that are focused or based on your career interest or hobbies. This will help you to connect with new business professionals, recruiters, and even people with similar hobbies or interests as you. This circle of friendship will be of great help to you on a longer run.

The don’ts…

Stop creating of using any fake accounts so as to pry someone through social networking sites. Try to be yourself and connect with real people. Creating fake accounts will only affect your social networking behavior and lead to many unwanted complications. Also while connecting to new people, make sure they aren’t fake. Check if they are your acquaintances, KIK friends, or people you might have heard of.

Don’t simply trust or believe in everything that you come across through the social media. If you’re using the social networking website as a primary source of news, better check the validity of the news before you believe it. Many people try and upload fake contents on the social media, just to attract more users to their profile.

Don’t get addicted to your social networking site. Make sure you spend enough time with your family, friends, and avoid getting diverted from other important tasks. Always remember that you need to maintain a balance between your social and personal life.
